StarCaster® Automated ATIS Broadcast System
The StarCaster® Automated ATIS Broadcast System is
based on the award-winning technology and superior quality
speech output generated from the original StarCaster®
Text-to-Speech System. The StarCaster® Automated
ATIS System offers a completely packaged digital
automated terminal information service product to the
aviation industry. The D-ATIS functionality eliminates human
transcription errors while enhancing flight safety and reducing
flight crew workload.
The StarCaster ATIS System provides a
high quality, fully automated replacement to manually-produced
ATIS broadcasts, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The system
is designed to automatically receive ATIS weather information
from the airport facility's weather data source (i.e. N-TFS,
AFTN, AWOS/ASOS, IDS-5,
other network connections). This weather information is
then used to produce voice output for the ATIS broadcasts,
according to user specifications.
