PRIOR WINS $1.5M in Nav Canada Contracts
PRIOR Data Sciences, Ottawa, will be prime contractor on a pair of contracts with Nav Canada. Under the first, PRIOR will supply a text-to-voice generation system (TVGS) and digital automatic teminal information services (DATIS) software. TVGS will be installed in airport control towers across Canada to automatically broadcast weather and airport conditions to pilots. The second contract calls for PRIOR to provide a prototype automated telephone weather answering system to allow pilots to inter-actively request weather information.
PRIOR has teamed with Speech Technology Research Ltd., Victoria, BC, which previously delivered similar systems to Nav Canada. STR will provide the core text-to-voice technology from its StarCaster System, and assist Prior with software integration, quality assurance, documentation and training...
